Hijama (Wet Cupping) is one of the remedies from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi WA Sallam). Not only did He have Hijama performed on himself, but He also recommended it as a beneficial treatment for various ailments. Hijama is derived from the Arabic word Hajam which means sucking. It is an ancient form of alternative treatment in which a therapist creates a mild suction by leaving a cup on the skin for 3 minutes. Then the therapist removes the cup and uses a small scalpel to make tiny and light cuts on your skin to do a second suction of drawing out a small quantity of blood. After the suction of blood is done, the area is covered with the ointment and bandage to prevent infection. It is used to get rid of harmful toxins for healing and enhance the blood circulation in the body.

“Highly recommended, the therapist was very friendly and humble. Even it was the first time I was afraid of cuts and blood but she patiently explained to me the whole process. I straight away felt the positive difference after my Hijama session.”
