Dr. Saira Bano is a multitalented woman with extensive experience hosting programs, moderating live shows, and serving as a consultant medical practitioner for over 33 years.
She is currently the CIR of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Graduate Women International (SAARCGWI) and a member of the Projects Development Committee at Graduate Women International (GWI) in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, she serves as the CIR of the Pakistan Federation of University Women (PFUW) and is a patron member of the Pakistan Association of the Deaf (PAD). She also serves on the advisory board of the Help International Welfare Trust and has been a trustee there. She has been a Member of the Managing Committee, Chairperson (2014-2015), and Advisor (2015-2016) of the Women Entrepreneur Sub-Committee at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI). Furthermore, she is a member of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and an Executive Member and Program Head of the Memon News Foundation. She previously held the position of Vice President of the Pakistan Professionals’ Hijamah Society (Women Wing-Sindh).
She has served as the moderator of the popular live show “Health Hour” on Sindh Police FM 88.6 and previously hosted the acclaimed show “Dr. 101” on FM 101, which aired around 100 episodes. Additionally, she hosted “Prime Time” on FM 93 from Radio Pakistan Karachi, as well as on YouTube and various TV channels. She brings extensive experience in raising awareness about the importance of information technology through seminars, career guidance, and counseling, having consulted with over 100 schools across Pakistan, particularly in rural areas. She also supervised IT placement services with a special focus on scholarships, primarily benefiting women and individuals with disabilities.
Dr. Bano has received numerous honors, including producing a stage play on breast cancer at Liaquat National Hospital for Breast Cancer Day. She has written articles, research reports, editorials, and stories, notably on information and communication technology (ICT) for prominent newspapers, journals, and magazines. She has earned several awards for her outstanding achievements, such as recognition from Liaquat National Hospital for the breast cancer stage play and accolades from organizations like the 21st Century Business & Economic Club Women Forum for her contributions to women’s empowerment in Pakistan. The Wonder Women Association of Pakistan has also honored her for her significant contributions to social services.
She completed her Master’s in Political Science at the University of Karachi in 2001 and is a certified cupping therapist with a Diploma in Homeopathic Medical Science (DHMS) from Central Homeopathic Medical College, Karachi, in 1992. She also holds a diploma in Aesthetic Services and completed a course in FTJ from the National Council for Tibb. Dr. Bano is fluent in several languages, including Urdu, English, Sindhi, and Memoni.
