The Prophet (PBUH) explained that Hijama is one of the best medicines: “The best medicine with which you treat yourselves is Hijama.” [Sahih Bukhari Hadith-No: 5371]

Hijama (Wet Cupping) is one of the remedies from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi WA Sallam). Not only did He have Hijama performed on himself, but He also recommended it as a beneficial treatment for various ailments. Hijama is derived from the Arabic word Hajam which means sucking. It is an ancient form of alternative treatment in which a therapist creates a mild suction by leaving a cup on the skin for 3 minutes. Then the therapist removes the cup and uses a small scalpel to make tiny and light cuts on your skin to do a second suction of drawing out a small quantity of blood. After the suction of blood is done, the area is covered with the ointment and bandage to prevent infection. It is used to get rid of harmful toxins for healing and enhance the blood circulation in the body.

It is a suction only method in which the therapist place special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction which gives a massage effect. It is done for various purposes including relaxation, blood flow, decreasing the pain, deep tissue massage and inflammation.

If it’s your first session you might get 3-5 cups but in continuation, you can get more than 12 cups.

It is highly recommended to fast for 3 to 4 hours before Hijama therapy because food activates the blood circulation in digestion as well as the transport of nutrients in the body. However, you can still drink plenty of water before the session.

  • Avoid eating dairy and red meat products for 24 hours. These foods need more blood and energy flow during digestion which in turn reduce the blood flow to the cupped areas resulting in the slowing of the healing process.
  • Avoid all carbonated/ fizzy drinks and caffeine for 24 hours. Drinking plenty of water is recommended to stay hydrated. You can also drink light green tea and provide good health benefits to your body.
  • Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours.
  • Avoid sexual relations for 24 hours.
  • You can take lukewarm water bath after 1 hour.
  • Apply our magic cream or plain petroleum jelly generously on the affected area every day. If both of them are not available you can apply pure honey too.

Cupping helps with many diseases and issues such as

  • Digestive problems
  • Muscles pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Skin problems (psoriasis, eczema, acne etc.).
  • Stress
  • Migraine
  • Anxiety
  • Sciatica
  • Depression

  • Obesity
  • Asthma
  • Varicose Veins and so on.

They either develop instant or on a period of 24 hours. After they started disappearing and after 3 to 4 days your skin would be normal again.

Hijama doesn’t hurt but sometimes on the first day, your affected area may feel a little bit itchy so we recommend applying our magic ointment or plain petroleum jelly to reduce itchiness, scarring and aid in healing

Cupping doesn’t cause bruises. They leave painless marks i.e discoloration from pulling up the stagnant blood that is commonly mistaken as bruises. These painless marks disappear completely after 3 days.
